GF Resource Grammar Summer School

The summer school is over, but this web page will continue to give access to material created during the summer school and as a result from it.

The summer school was a collaborative effort to create grammars of new languages in Grammatical Framework, GF. These grammars are added to the Resource Grammar Library, which currently has 12 languages. Around 10 new languages are already under construction, and the School will address 23 new languages as shown in the logo above. All results will be made available as open-source software realeased under the LGPL license.

In addition, the course will serve those interested in getting an introduction to GF or an overview of on-going work. The course will begin with a 2-day GF tutorial.

The summer school is organized by the Language Technology Group at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The group is a part of the Centre of Language Technology, a focus research area of the University of Gothenburg.

A first demo of what was built during the summer school can be seen here: comment your food in 22 languages!

The code created by the school participants will be made accessible continuously in the GF darcs repository, subdirectory contrib/summerschool.
